Kim Noi is one of favorite rice area in Mu Cang Chai. It gets far fewer visitors than La Pan Tan and some of the other areas, though it is very popular with Vietnamese tourists. It’s a bit off of the main route 32 on the left hand side just as you’re leaving downtown Mu Cang Chai. For off-road motorcycle riders you can keep going past Kim Noi and connect up to some back roads going all the way past La Pan Tan — a great ride. There’s a bit of a steep rocky section, though it seems to be improved every year. It is NOT accessible by car.
Kim Noi faces primarily north though it’s a big area and both sunrise and sunset locations can be found.
